About Kathy

Kathy Kovacs - yorkville ccpa student representative

Kathy is currently in her second year of the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology program at Yorkville University. She draws on her experience as a French teacher in adult education and her background with a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership. In addition, Kathy volunteers at the West Island Cancer Wellness Center, where she provides wellness assessments to individuals recently diagnosed with cancer, offering support and care during challenging times.

As the Yorkville University Student Representative on the Quebec Counselling Association (QCA) board, Kathy sees this opportunity as a way to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional advocacy. Being part of the QCA allows her to connect with experienced professionals, stay informed about advancements in counselling practices, and represent the voices of emerging counsellors.
